July wasn’t a great reading month for me, I was in a slump for most of it, but thankfully I got through 7 books. And I enjoyed them all a lot. I also reread a couple of books to try and help me out of the slump, and I think it worked.

The Unhoneymooners by Christina Lauren

I don’t normally read romance books, but I'm slowly getting into the genre. This one was really fun actually. It was a pure rom-com story, which usually leaves me cringing, but I enjoyed it so much. I love Olive and seeing her story and her falling for her arch enemy. It was very fun, and I will be giving more books like this a go.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Bone Crier’s Moon by Kathryn Purdie

This book was interesting. I was fascinated by the premise, and the story was told brilliantly. I love seeing all three characters struggles and development. However, I did have some issues with it, but I did enjoy it overall. Enough to give it a 4 on Goodreads.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Alice by Christina Henry

This is my first reread which was mid book slump. I hadn’t read in about a week and picked this one up to read alongside a friend who was reading it. This is a very dark retelling and very messed up. And it's one of my favourites. I adore this book so much; it was just done so well. And Henry’s writing is amazing, I need to finish the other retellings she has.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Touch of Power by Maria V. Snyder

Another reread, and another favourite. This book is amazing. It's by one of my favourite authors of all time and is brilliant. I love Avery’s character; I love seeing her strength and resolve. She is a healer, so her morals are more so than some characters I’ve encountered. I love her, and I love all the other characters of course.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Incendiary by Zoraida Córdova

This book was good. I enjoyed the story overall, and I loved the main character a lot. I did, however, get confused at times throughout the story and got annoyed once or twice. But I really enjoyed it nonetheless. And I am looking forward to the sequel!

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Rage and Ruin by Jennifer L. Armentrout

Sequel to Storm and Fury, I adored this book. I am loving the story and what is happening. Trinity can be annoying at times, and I did get frustrated a bit with her, but I love the story so much. AND THAT ENDING! I AM STILL SCREAMING. I’m okay, I’m okay. I just need the sequel! Can it come out already?

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Spin the Dawn by Elizabeth Lim

Mulan is one of my favourite legends, so I’m always excited for a retelling. I knew a little going into this, but it took me by surprise. I loved the twists that happen, and I love the development of the story, from just a competition to a journey for the impossible. I had a small issue with the speed of something that developed, but I got over it. I still adore it and cannot wait to pick up the sequel.
